CEC’s LEF and CI circuitry is the basis for this result.
The unique combination of current injection and LEF(load effect free) Single Ended Class A technology in only one amplifier per balanced analog output stage provides you today’s best possible sound quality. All amplifier sections run without any overall negative feedback. Thus the amplifier creates no dynamic distortions. Included is a small section with standard HiFi-quality microphone amplifier plus A/D converter and a headphone amplifier. This section is intended for e.g. internet telephony.
State-of-the-art Current Injection tecnology
CI(Current Injection) is a landmark technology for shortening the signal path, improving the sound quality and measurement specs significantly. The effective simplicity of CI requires a non-feedback-loop amplifer. While CI replaces the voltage amplifer, LEF guarantees best performance of the current amplifer with low THD. Both technologies complement each other and overcome the limitations of traditional circuitry to a better standard of music reproduction. The maximum performance of the DAC chip is attained because neither a redundant amplification stage nor negative feedback are present in this method, and an outstanding capability for musical expression is achieved without sacrificing measurement specs.
Burr-Brown’s newest DAC
DA53 uses the latest model PCM1796 from Burr-Brown. By using the DAC in dual-mono, it guarantees ultra low distortion, high dynamic range and channel separation.
Digital functions
By pushing and rotating the rotary encoder switch at the right side of the front panel, you can select different settings for Digital Filter, Dither and Δ∑FS as well as input of your choice.
Input/output jacks
DA53 supports up to 48kHz input sampling frequency via USB, up to 24bit/96kHz via TOS LINK and up to 24bit/192kHz via SP/DIF COAX and AES/EBU. All of these input signals are upsampled with 24 bit/195kHz. By upsampling to 195kHz instead of 192kHz, it is possible for internal operation to avoid intermodulation with any incoming sample frequency. Analog output signals are always available from the both of balanced XLR and Unbalanced RCA, regardless of the input.
USB sound system
DA53 is an excellent choice also for computer users looking for highest level of sound quality by connecting DA53 to the USB port. Any additional soundcard and *driver installation are not required. You can connect DA53’s analog outputs, which are converted from the digital signal via USB from the computer, to your audio system.
*The microphone and headphone section are supported in USB sound system use only.
*Windows 2000/XP, Macintosh OS9/OSX, Linux (not guaranteed)
