In order to get an ideal impulse behavior and therefore the fastest possible bass response, we had to develop incredibly fast and absolutely linear bass drivers for the Epoque Aeon Baforce Petite. The motor system is optimized to the maximum linearization of the magnet field in both directions of the extremely high excursion area, resulting in the lowest and smoothest possible harmonic distortion spectrum. Furthermore, all materials we use here are of unparalleled quality, making it possible to reach the minimum possible loss factors and the fastest impulse behavior. Only to sum a few: Glasfiber voice coils, extremely lossless spiders and gaskets, extensive ventilation, extremely rigid aluminum membranes, etc.

To get an even more accurate and fast bass response, we use multiple arrays of bass drivers. These special bass drivers are mounted in a particular array on the left and the right side of the enclosure in order to activate the room modes completely uniformly. Additionally, each of these custom built bass drivers is mounted in their own sealed chamber in order to get the best possible impulse behavior and therefore the fastest possible bass response with maximum control. In terms of maximum sound pressure level, a lot of air has to be moved when the frequency drops. Therefore the surface area sum of all bass drivers in one Epoque Aeon Baforce Petite is greater than 1800 cm2! And all this with a linear excursion of more than 2 cm!

Our ultra lossless bass drivers are mounted impulse compensated in the enclosure of the Epoque Aeon Baforce Petite. Through this additional technology and based on the usage of our proprietary ultra rigid sandwich enclosure materials, the already ultra low harmonic distortions and material resonances are once again reduced to nearly one tenth part. You will experience this in an even higher resolution, effortlessness and even quicker transient response in the bass and sub-bass area.

The enclosure of the Epoque Aeon Baforce Petite is an absolute non-compromise design, where all our knowledge about material resonances was applied. Based on our bending wave technology, we certainly know exactly how to manage surface waves on enclosure materials so they don’t even start to arise. For the Epoque Aeon Baforce Petite, we only use our proprietary multilayered composite material in combination with a special aluminum alloy in order to prevent any resonances in the working areas of each driver. Through this ultra rigid combination of materials we also avoid any energy saving effects. This results in an unbelievably uncolored sound reproduction with tremendous attack and speed in front of an absolutely silent background.

Each bass driver in the active version of our Epoque Aeon Baforce Petite has it’s own 250 Watt/sin. amplifier and is directly coupled to it’s output. For the active version of our Epoque Aeon Baforce subwoofer we are using 8 amplifiers, each delivering 250 Watt/sin. = 2 KW/sin. in total! The power amplifiers are specially adapted Class H types with a very low output impedance. Through this, we reach a stunningly high damping factor and get the best possible control over each bass driver. Additionally, we hereby also avoid influences through back EMI from the outset. All of this results in a bass reproduction with the best possible impulse behavior and maximum control, that you have never experienced before.

The massively oversized high end power supply can shortly deliver 4 times higher peak current as all the amplifiers need at maximum level. This is permanently controlled by a micro controller in order to always have secured conditions. To lower the interferences even more, we designed the enclosure so the power supply has it’s own shielded chamber and doesn’t affect the analog section. Hereby every dynamic impulse is reproduced with unbelievable velocity and precision so every small dynamic detail of music is unveiled without compression.

All of the electronic units are housed in a non-compromise enclosure which is milled out of a full block of a specific aluminum alloy. Hereby we get perfect control over many important aspects like avoiding EMI, the ideal heat dispersion, the freedom from magnetic interfering fields, an ideal resonance behavior of the complete system, etc. In order to lower the interferences even more, we designed the enclosure so every unit has it’s own shielded chamber and components like the power supply and micro controller don’t affect the analog section.
